		<description>Curiously, in &quot;Tamas&quot;, Bhisham Sahni&#039;s novel on communal violence before and after the Partition, the same wringing-the-chicken-neck was shown as an initiation ceremony used by Hindu right-wingers. Which says something about those on either extreme of the ideological specturm. Glad to know they are spelling the Maoist leader&#039;s name in many ways but Gandhi is not one of them.</description>

Many times it so happens that established columnists run out of ideas and smugly churn out a piece that should have been rejected outright. As they say:(in Hindi) Jaise Ram nam se patthar terate hai, vaise hi mere naam se hi column aur use chhapnewala akhbar ter jayega).</description>
