Ela Menon is simple.The ambition of every TV news channel is to grab as many advertisements as possible. Although they do not say it, the channels will do anything to be able arrive at a point where news and views will become fillers. So people like Anjalie are invited to make inconsequential noise to fill up the time between the commercial breaks.This is an improvement over truck drivers carrying a solemn message that Jagah Milne Par Side Dee Jayegi.Since TV channels are operated by the educated chattering class they clothe the truck driver&#039;s message and call it a debate.This is an age of propaganda. Hastily formed opinions,divorced from the ground reality,have replaced considered comment,politeness has been deleted from their dictionary, and news has to be entertaining or shocking to catch the viewers&#039; attention.Have not we noticed that the media,in tune with globalisation, hass shifted its focus now on consumers,  buyers and advertisers, away from the traditional readers/viewers .</description>
