That one was so funny... So much for our chosen ones taking the commoners class...I heard the GoI had to spend lakhs of rupees for security when the other Gandhi had chosen to travel the length of the country in third class Post Independence (which has since been abolished...lest some other celebrity or politician thinks of repeating the feat). Pretentious...

Not too sure what to think of this. Will we ever be pleased with anything? I think it is a nice gesture by Rahul to travel by train. Not only because he is a political figure, but I am sure he can afford to fly on his own means. If I & you can, so can he. It may be all a publicity gimmick but a nice one. As for the 6 Black Cat commandoes, I am glad they accompanied him. I would be devastated to see Rahul harmed.
TV channels be damned....We seem to be getting too cynical about everything in life.

Razor-sharp humour. I am reminded of a joke about a well-to-do family's child writing an essay on the gardener. Innocent of the cruel reality, the child wrote: The gardener was poor, his car was a poor man's car, the refrigerator was also of the poor class. Everything the poor gardener had proclaimed his conditions to the world. Hay Re Garibi, tuzko bhagana padega.

Another stupid second-hand piece from somebody out of touch with reality. Emirates or Air India, on UAE-India routes, both are as bad. New Delhi has just been provided with a brand new railway terminal, connecting to an extremely clean Metro station, and I doubt you will find "several hundred yards of dirty concrete" in either location. The ticket and seat number is available on the internet, with the Indian Railways passenger ticketing technology being the current world standard, and the coach numbers are displayed over the train in 4 languages.

About the company in the train, what else do you want, junkies from Frankfurt Haupbahnoff?

You been out there too long, Mr. Bohra, and seems you now need to justify your tenure. Why not do a funny one on your Sheikhs, or is that going to cause you dietary discomfort?
